Run your own election with the checks built in

Your board sets up the vote. VoteStead handles the ballots, reminders, sealing and count, and stops you before a mistake reaches owners.

What your board does

  1. Add your association

Enter the state and formation date. VoteStead picks the state rule pack that applies on your election date.

  2. Upload the roster

Use a spreadsheet with unit, owner name, email and phone. The preview lists every problem before you save.

  3. Build the ballot

Add each question, the candidates or Yes and No, and whether write-ins count.

  4. Name the key holders

Name an election committee member who is not on the board and a second owner or your attorney. Neither can be a candidate. VoteStead escrow holds the third share.

  5. Launch

When every checklist item is done, voting opens on schedule and invitations go out.

  6. Count and certify

After voting closes, 2 key holders enter their shares. Your inspector certifies the results report.

Launch checklist

Voting cannot open without a roster, a ballot, confirmed key holders and every step your state's law requires. Features your state does not allow stay turned off.

Roster lock

Owner emails and phones lock while voting is open, so nobody redirects another unit's voting link.

Free test elections

Run a practice vote with your board first. Test elections are marked on every page and never count.
