Our goal

Every owner should be able to vote without help from another person. We design votestead.com and every ballot page to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What is built in

• Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline
• Ballot choices are labeled for screen readers, and each question is a labeled group
• Text contrast of at least 4.5 to 1
• Buttons and choices at least 44 pixels tall for touch
• Pages that work on screens as narrow as 360 pixels and zoom to 200 percent
• Motion turns off when your device asks for reduced motion
• Your ballot stays open for 2 hours after you sign in, so nobody has to rush

Voting without a screen

Owners who cannot or prefer not to vote online ask their association for a paper ballot.

Known limits

Votestead has not yet had an independent accessibility audit. Until then, reports from owners and boards are how we find and fix barriers.

If something on Votestead blocks you, email support@votestead.com or use the contact form. Include the page and the device or assistive technology you use. During a live election, also contact your association so you do not miss the voting deadline.
