Payment runs on Stripe. No card detail reaches VoteStead. Communities over 800 voting units are quoted individually at a lower per-unit rate, so ask for a quote instead. Managing several communities? The partner program buys elections in blocks at a wholesale rate, on one agreement and one invoice.

What the price covers

  • One binding election, counted and certified, with the results PDF your board files
  • Your state rule pack and a launch checklist that blocks a vote missing a required step
  • Invitations and up to 3 reminders per unit, by email and by text
  • Any number of questions on the ballot, from 21 templates or your own words
  • A call for nominations, if your vote elects directors
  • Ballots sealed on the owner device, opened by 2 of 3 key holders after voting closes
  • A tracker code each owner checks against the public list after the count
  • A free test election, set up for you, to practise on first

Ordered later, only if you want it

  • Printed and mailed notices, $1.75 a letter. Print your own at no charge instead. Reminder cards are $1.25, paper ballot packets $4.50, postage included.
  • Roster cleanup and import, $99. Send what you have in any format and VoteStead loads it.
  • Annual platform fee, $99 a year. Charged once a year to associations over 50 voting units, never per election.

The price is set by the unit count you enter. If your roster turns out larger when you open the vote, the extra units bill at the same published rates. Every rate is on the pricing page.

What happens after you pay

  1. Your account opens

    An email arrives with a one-time link to set your password, then you pair an authenticator app.

  2. You practise

    A free test election is already set up. Run it with two board members before the vote that counts.

  3. You build the real ballot

    Dates, questions, roster, key holders. The checklist tells you what your state requires.

  4. You count and certify

    Two key holders open the count after voting closes. You get the certified PDF and the audit log.
